PATCH stands for Preventative Approach to Cardiac Health and works to teach 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade children the importance of choosing heart healthy behaviors. Each PATCH program consists of two, 2-hour sessions and the following 5 workshops: (1) How the heart works, (2) How to keep the heart healthy, (3) Heart healthy nutrition, (4) Heart healthy exercise, (5) The importance of staying tobacco-free.
Volunteers in the PATCH program attend the sessions and help the kids fill out their worksheets, participate in the activities, and answer any questions. Sessions are scheduled monthly and can be found on the events calendar on the site.
